VI. Announcements and guest Speakers

  1.  ASRC Update: Amanda gave an update. Said things are going as well as the can be expected. Hoping to be out of there by the end of the month. Said she would let the truck drivers know to pull over and let traffic pass. 
  2. Chickaloon Tribal Police Donna gave an update on the dispatch contract and provided a call and incident report for the month of Feb.
  3. Hugh Leslie gave a presentation regarding MSB Parks & Recreation as part of their outreach program. Gave a list of things they offer and did a Q&A  
  4. Michael Bowles spoke and spoke on OR 25-0103 regarding a proposed planning commission. He also spoke on data centers, other issues on the agenda, and talked about his ordinance to replace property tax and took questions. He said if we had any concerns to email Lonnie McKechnie at the borough. Email: lonnie.mckechnie@matsugov.us  
  5. Micheilel Heun talked about public use toilets being installed in MSB. She also mentioned the Board of Game would be meeting and talking about proposal 252. That is regarding antlerless moose hunts in 14c. 

 

VII. Reports and Correspondence:
VIII. Treasurer’s report: Read by Cindy Hotz
IX. Road Service Area (RSA) 31: Still need a new volunteer for the area.
X. Community Assistance Program (CAP): No new CAP projects. Cindy’s project is in the works of being sent out to vote. There have been issues getting a list of voters in the area.
XI. Crime watch report: Nothing to report.

XII. Public Comment: Chris Hinckley mentioned she is now on the advisory board for the Lighthouse Clinic in Sutton and the services they offer. She said reach out if you have any questions regarding the clinic as a community member.

XIII. Old Business: 

  1. Kalee gave an update on the website. They are working on fixing our email and event calendar.  
  2. VFRC update: Questions were raised regarding the cost comparison regarding doing our own thing vs becoming a fire service area. A brief history of what was previously looked into was covered and how it was considered not practical. Frankie said she would look back into it. Michael Bowles commented and said he would look into it and provide an email with what he can find.
  3. CERT training: no update will need to get dates setup. 

XIV. New Business: 

  1. Spring cleanup – Volunteers needed.
