CHICKALOON COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

DATE: May 14, 2025

Officers: Jeff Myers (Chair), Kalee Bowen (Vice-Chair), John J Vessey

(Member at Large), Cindy Hotz (Treasurer), and Blanche Roe (Secretary)

  1. Call to order  7:00 pm
    II. Pledge of Allegiance: Wesley Daniels
    III. Approval of Agenda as Posted: 1st by Janie, 2nd John
    IV. Minutes from last meeting (5/14/24): Blanche Roe
    V. Approval of minutes: 1st Janie, 2nd Sheryl
    VI. Announcements & Guest Speakers:
  1. Amanda Dial from ASRC: D.N.R has responded to comments and the new appeal time frame is 20 days. We are moving into bird nesting so there will not be any work done after July 15th. Rig work is still in the Q3 and Q4 window.

VII. Reports and Correspondence:
A. Treasurer’s Report: Cindy Hotz
B. Road Service Area (RSA) 31: Dave Vancleve said nothing new.
C. Community Assistance Program (CAP): Cindy and Kaylee said that they need everyone’s updated address so they can send out ballots for a community wide vote. For fire sticks and fire department insurances.
D. Fire Dept. Report: Wesley Daniels Stilling planning a date for a meeting for fire prevention. Got a new white fire truck ,but besides that Nothing new to comment on.
E. Crime Watch Report: Kalee said the truck at hollier way is still there. They are waiting on parts so they can move it. Be on the lookout and be mindful there are strangers showing up to random houses and be on the lookout for bears.
VIII. Public Comment: Marsha asked if the batteries on the community center door can be changed.
IX. Old Business:

  1. Jeff said check out the new flag and picnic tabels.
  2. Community clean up is still going on till June 27th.Sign up sheet is at the post office.
  1. New Business:
    A. Community clean up bags will be dumped by June 30th.
  2. Community clean up BBQ is June 28th 2 1PM 2 the community center, Please if anyone wants to donate door prizes please have them to have blanche by June 17th.
