CHICKALOON COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
DATE: March 12, 2025
Officers: Jeff Myers (Chair), Kalee Bowen (Vice-Chair), John J Vessey
(Member at Large), Cindy Hotz (Treasurer), and Blanche Roe (Secretary)
- Call to order 7:10 pm
II. Pledge of Allegiance: Jeremy

IV. Minutes from last meeting (2/12/24): Blanche Roe
V. Approval of minutes: 1st Janie, 2nd John
VI. Announcements & Guest Speakers: - Amanda Dial from ASRC: Not much has changed since the last meeting; the Early onset of road restrictions have impacted the plan. They are waiting for DNR to respond to the comments. Amanda will continue to come and provide support. They want to get done before the end of summer.
B. STIP 2024-2027: Amendment 2 Project Updates & 30 day public comment period ends 3/20/25. Jeff announced that there is open comment about an amendment to the transportation statewide movement program it is on the website tell 3/20/25. - John Jay bought a new tv for training, fire department meetings and other uses.
- Sutton Liberty is having a fireside book sale {Thursday-Friday} 10am to 7pm & Saturday 11am to 4pm.
VII. Reports and Correspondence:

B. Road Service Area (RSA) 31: Dave Vancleve no comment
C. Community Assistance Program (CAP): Jeff announced that the cap applications are available in person or on the website. Cap should benefit everyone in the community, something to remember when applying for it. Also we are holding off on discussion and voting for the insurances for the fire department for cap tell skip returns.
D. Fire Dept. Report: Wesley Daniles, Added comment about fire season and burn permits will be in effect on 3/17/25. There have been no new calls since the uhaul tire fire.
E. Crime Watch Report: Kalee Bowen

IX. Old Business:
- Propane tank has been set and the stove is now working great.
- Website is updated.
- New Business: Discussion on a new propane generator for the community center and to donate the old gas generator and gas cans to the chickaloon fire dept. There will be a fundraiser this summer.
A. Discussion for replacing the water heater has been tabled for a future date. Current water heater doesn’t work, but will eventually need to be replaced.
