Brown Bears in Fish Lake Neighborhood and Surrounding Areas

There have been a couple sightings of a sow with her cubs over the last few days. The photo was taken just this morning off the end of Fish Lake rd. We have also heard that was a gutted moose calf near Fish Lake recently.

Around midnight the bears visited at least two residences at the end of Fish Lake Rd and rummaged around a bit. Keep an eye out and be safe.

The visited the same two places the following two nights. We also just got notified they destroyed a chicken coop Wednesday near Fish Lake and then another place yesterday off Maggie Lane. They seem to be getting more bold and are definitely making daily rounds.

Another update regarding the bears (7/15): There are two sets of bears in the area. A sow with three 2 year old cubs in the fish lake area and then a sow with two 3 year olds in the California creek/Chickaloon river area. They are extremely dangerous and everyone should be taking precautions.
